Technology leader BYD focuses on proven Iron-Phosphate battery at LogiMAT 2019

BYD is again presenting its innovative technology at LogiMAT 2019, held from 19 to 21 February.

Located in Hall 10 on stand A69, BYD is premiering a number of forklift innovations at LogiMAT in 2019. All new BYD forklifts and warehouse equipment are fully equipped with the improved BYD Iron-Phosphate technology.

Our innovations for logistics are being presented at LogiMAT under the slogan: “The most reliable and safest power”, said Javier Contijoch in his new role as Vice President of Sales at BYD Europe.

BYD Europe has set the course for 2019 with a dynamic expansion of the BYD Forklift dealer network into France, Norway, Sweden, Demark and Poland.

Iron-Phosphate batteries utilised in electric vehicles are dominated by the market leader BYD, which offers outstanding performance and industry leading Total Cost of Ownership.

“The proven BYD Iron-Phosphate battery system offers tremendous cost savings and is considered by insiders to be a cost saver, allowing customers significant investment possibilities. We clearly want to demonstrate this”, said Blade Feng, newly appointed Business Unit Director Forklift at BYD Europe B.V.

The new, attractive range of forklifts and warehouse equipment on show feature BYD’s industry leading 8-year or 10,000-hour battery warranty. With maintenance free operation and up to 40% reduction in energy use, BYD trucks are particularly well suited for multi-shift applications and enable both distribution partners and operators to make an easy investment decision.

The new warehouse trucks include the second generation pallet truck PTP20S with 2.0t load capacity, EPS14P/EPS14Pi stacker with operator platform and initial lift, OPS30L horizontal order picker and T250 electric tow tractor with 25T drawbar capacity.

Another first is the BYD ECB50C with air-conditioned drivers cab. Additional new features include dual joysticks and double pedal control for all trucks from 2.0T to 5.0T capacity.

Furthermore, BYD will once again present its ECB20C ATEX, the world‘s first explosion proof truck featuring Lithium power. BYD continues its partnership with EX-protection specialists Miretti with the ability to offer ATEX machines with all BYD counterbalance trucks.

Also on show are a range of products which premiered in 2018 including the PTW20S 2.0T compact powered pallet truck, ECB18DB 1.8T 4-wheel compact lift truck and the RTR16 reach truck with 1.6T nominal capacity, as well as the IFOY winning ECB18C 3-wheel truck.

Everything to look at, experience and discuss

Synergies for energy efficiency with the BYD Iron-Phosphate battery.

“Following a crossover strategy, BYD has incorporated all application segments into its innovative development, generating synergy effects. The diverse breadth of applications in various electric vehicle and equipment product ranges and system compatibility remain unrivaled”, says Javier Contijoch, listing the results of more than 22 years of engineering and development, in the form of thousands of patents that BYD holds. The technological advantages of Iron-Phosphate batteries in various BYD vehicle product ranges is due to synergies.

“Today, BYD’s renewable energy solutions are successfully deployed in over 50 countries and regions worldwide for a zero-emission energy ecosystem, affordable solar energy, reliable energy storage and innovative electric transport vehicles”, added Contijoch.

Think about sustainability anew

As a result, grid-parallel, efficient energy concepts are becoming more attractive. With its system-compatible energy storage technology of Iron-Phosphate batteries, BYD is highly flexible. The technical advantages apply across the industry. The original photovoltaic module manufacturer, BYD offers to keep solar energy in self-produced storage batteries until they cover the daily, multi-shift requirements in the e-mobility vehicles. Several logistic companies have successfully implemented this energy self-sufficient concept in locations in the Netherlands and the UK, using a combination of photovoltaic systems, storage batteries, fast-charging devices and powering their electric forklift trucks and electric delivery trucks with “solar energy”.
